Club Points or ELO?
Both ignore the size of the score and look at who finished where. They answer different questions.
Club Points
- Answer: who has done best in the club so far?
- Points add up over time: the more you play and the better you place, the higher you go.
- Each club chooses Club Points or raw scores, and sets the points per place.
ELO
- Answers: how strong is each player compared with the others?
- Beating a strong player is worth more than beating a newcomer.
- Off by default. Only the club admin can turn it on, from the Pro plan.
Changing your mind
- The club’s choice applies to new plays. Plays already saved keep the points they were logged with.
- The real scores are always kept, whichever you choose.
Which one
- A casual group that wants to reward showing up and playing: Club Points.
- A competitive group that wants a skill rating: turn on ELO as well. The two can live side by side.
